This one works great for what I need. Takes 2 AA batteries. They fit in snugly and don't fall out of position. I use this on fleece to take off the pilling where the material rubs up against itself. (Like between the legs). The motor sounded strong and within a minute of rubbing with the unit, all of the pilling was gone. I was quite content. However, within 3 minutes and several pairs of sweat pants, the lint container on the unit was full. Ended up having to empty it twice. The battery-operated fabric shavers are weak and have tendencies to randomly stop during usage, making it hard to work on a garment efficiently. Or you have to go over the same area until all the pilling is gone which practically takes half a day! Frustrating. Then there are those garment "grooming bars" that are supposed to "revive" the finish of knits and sweaters. What they don't tell you is that it leaves fine granules of the bar all over your garment which you then need to shake off or remove (and even then they don't all come off unless you lint roll them well) or that the gentle downward brushing strokes doesn't provide enough pressure to get the pilling off yet applying more pressure causes stretching of the garment in whatever direction you're stroking. It worked great! I used it with the adaptor cord so I haven't tried it with batteries yet but it got off all that fuzzy pilling and the sweaters looked great. So far, so good and I think it was money well spent. |
