They are breathable yet very waterproof. I wore them in a big storm and they kept me very dry. The only thing I've had to watch out for is that the right leg can get caught in the chain. So I put on a reflector band and fold the pant and that has seemed to work to keep it out of the chain. I expected to be sweating under them. However, even in a downpour and riding as hard as I can, I arrived with dry legs. These out perform my stupid Specialized rain jacket I spent $80 on. Be cautious, the pants are baggy and without a ankle strap or rolling up your right leg, you will catch them in your chain ring. Other than that I'm really happy with them. I'm going to buy their coat to replace that Specialized coat I have.
