I read the other review with the concern about the weight. I have installed these on all 5 sets of my regs and I love them! Yes, they are a bit on the heavy side but without the constant pull from the stiff hose on the reg it weighs itself out on jaw fatigue!!!!!!! Well, just received it and my first impression is: wow!! this is really heavy!! Unfortunately, being a metric system person, I did not realize that the 3.2 ounces specified were almost 100g which add 50% to the 245g weight of the Mares Proton Metal second stage I have. I wonder what would be the feeling when I have to keep that extra weight on my jaw. It does not look very promising... I already feel that the Proton Metal is on the heavy side when compared to the all plastic Proton (175g) which I have as Octopus. I will give it a try, but I am not optimistic... will report back if I change my mind later. |
