"It's green..." Well maybe more of a Turquoise. But a greenish Turquoise. At first I suspected that this was an error in shipping and they just sent me the correct model in a different color. But after inspecting the tag inside the guitar it does say APX500BB (BB - Blue Burst). So yeah... it's not quite as blue as the pictures make it out to be. If that's important to you, there you go. But as far as I'm concerned, it still looks pretty sweet. So I will start there... Aesthetics - 8/10: It has a very sharp look to it. Excellent glossy finish. The color burst is deep and rich but still reveals the grain of the wood. The sides/back/neck/headstock are all black, with the exception of a slight hint of the burst color on the back of the body and headstock (more noticeable on the headstock). Yamaha has a reputation of being a very respectable company for making quality acoustic guitars, and this model is no different. Visual: The finish on the Oriental Blue Burst is beautiful. My particular instrument has a tiny bit of unfinished wood (and I'm talking tiny) showing near the bridge, but other than that, the appearance is flawless. I particularly like the style of this guitar in that the sound hole is slightly oval in shape and has a nice inlay around it with no pick guard. Kind of makes it stand out from other similar guitars, in a way. Technical: The fret board is a bit narrower than other guitars I've played, so if you have extra thick fingers, you may have trouble keeping from muting strings unintentionally. It's a slim line guitar, though, so it's very easy to tuck it in close to your body and get your arms around, and it's a great guitar...
