Product Description

(The 2-Pack, MEDIUM size Tommy Kono Knee Bands will fit for people weighing 130 to 250 pounds.) Your knees are critical for stability and strength in all movements. So if you put your knees out of action, you're out of action. T. K. Knee Bands provides full flexibility to your knee joints, conditioning them to be strong and stable. Use them for injury prevention against repetitive and vigorous knee activities like leg squats and powerlifting movements. T. K. Knee Bands increase blood circulation to your knees to enhance your movements. Remove them after training and your knees will be sweating! T. K. Knee Bands were designed by weightlifter Tommy Kono, winner of world records. A two-time Gold Medal Olympic winner, and two-time winner of Mr. Universe, he designed them for himself after suffering 4 years of knee pain. For over 30 years, T.K. Knee bands have been time tested by the greatest. . . . champion weightlifters like Bob Bednarski, Tony Harris, Jesse Marundo and Kenny Dinolfo.

  • The 2-Pack, MEDIUM size will fit for people weighing between 130 to 250 lbs.
  • Will protect the knees from vigorous and repetitive exercises like squats, and powerlifting movements.
  • Increases blood circulation to the knee, lubricating the tendon, making movement easier on your body. Compression helps prevent or minimize knee pain.
  • Will not "gather" or wrinkle so you will not have to repeatedly readjust the band during your workout.
  • Sold in PAIRS. Wearing pairs prevents the transfer of stress from the bad to the good knee, causing another knee injury.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding performance!, October 2, 2009

As a certified trainer and avid proponent of the CrossFit methodology, I can say from personal use that these bands rock! Both my knees are damaged (USMC, racquetball, chondromeniscus patella) but proper squat form and the intensity of CF workouts helped to minimize a lot of the pain and ROM (range of motion) issues; still, going heavy and fast would aggravate these old injuries. The TK knee bands were mentioned on the CF forum and I decided to take a chance. Bottom line -- THEY WORK!.

Nothing special, no frills -- but they are strong and supportive, without binding. I can run, bike, and perform full ROM movements (squat) for hours with no pain during or after. After six months of use, the ribbon over the seam/stitching has come loose, but it hasn't impacted the band or diminished its performance. There is almost no sign of wear after six months of four to five uses per week. I will be ordering a pair for my elbows, as the only difference is in the size, not the function... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars great, but a bit tight, October 24, 2010

Recently, I returned to weightlifting after about four years off. When I competed previously, I weighed about 115 kg and I wore a pair of the largest Rehband knee sleeves. During my time off I seem to have lost them (and roughly 20 kg) so I was looking for a new pair. My new coach recommended these and they were cheaper so I went for it. They keep my knees very warm through my entire workout and they provide solid support in the bottom position.

*They recommend the medium for athletes up to 250 lbs but I don't think this is very accurate given the type of athlete who will likely purchase them. This may be fine for the average athlete but if you're a weightlifter and over 200 lbs I recommend the large. The medium fits me well enough but if my legs get any bigger I will likely buy a large.

**The instructions say to rinse the sleeves with tepid (warm) water after usage. I HIGHLY recommend adhering to this. With my old knee sleeves, I would only wash them every... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Pain-free squatting!, September 5, 2010

I love these knee sleeves. I have never tried any other kind, but these are a miracle to me. I never had pain squatting until May when I slipped on some stairs and jammed my leg. I was prepping for a powerlifting competition and couldn't take the time off to let things heal. Of course the knee got worse (as expected). After the meet, I tried taking it easy on the leg, but even going up and down stairs was painful. I had been trying light squats to rehab the knee, but it wasn't working. Then I got the TK Bands. Wearing them while squatting 2 - 3 times a week actually healed my damaged knee. My knee is much, much better now. It's not perfect, but the daily pain is gone and I can squat heavy again now. They don't add more than a few pounds of push, which is great because I am a raw squatter and I don't want to have my lifts depend on the support. And unlike knee wraps, it is a joy to wear them throughout an entire training session. This means that I can do my squats sets and be done,... Read more
