If you lift kettlebells, I mean "lift" kettlebells - not just "workout" with them, you will know that you have to learn and use proper technique to progress. I received my kettlebell lifting knowledge from Valery Fedorenko and the Ice Chamber. They are proven master lifters with certifiable experience, both teaching and competing. They all wear very thin wristbands because thick pads around your wrist prevent you from learning and performing proper cleans and snatches. I use the kettleguards because they are a washable terry cloth fabric wristband which also has pockets for me to insert and remove plastic strips as I progress in my training. I can add thickness to it when the kettlebell is heavy, but as I acclimate to the weight I will remove some strips to keep the kettleguard thin. I've been lifting kettlebells for a year now and first started without using any wrist wraps and quickly realized they were a necessity for me. I tried regular weightlifting wrist wraps and they were too bulky, too short, and way too much of a pain to get on and off. The kettleguards solved all of these problems for me. They are the perfect length to protect your whole wrist from any discomfort when using a competition size bell (or any bell, really), they are super easy to pull on and off, and they are thin enough to not get in the way of proper technique. When I first started lifting heavier kettlebells, I doubled up the plastic strips on one side for a little extra protection and that was perfect- I found I didn't need extra strips all the way around. Now, the one set of strips is sufficient for most of the lifting that I do. The size of the kettleguards is also great. I have really big wrists and I was concerned they'd be too tight,...
