I even tried on the black faced version in a local jewelers and left unimpressed... But I took a chance and ordered this sight unseen and am so glad I did. I wanted an automatic hammy for a while, and just couldn't commit to any particular model. I was also concerned about the 46mm size... I am a rather big guy, and this looks perect and in scale with my frame. The movement is excellent, and while others have posted comments on the visibility of the brushed numbers does warrant consideration, I wouldn't change them. I think they add a lot of understated elegance to a high end field watch that otherwise would be missing something at this price point. With the pewter face and shiny brushed hands and numbers, this thing is slick. I've received dozens of compliments after wearing it for 2 weeks. This watch is very noticeable and definitely makes a statement. Even though it's 46mm it still slightly smaller than the width of my wrist. It fits comfortably well on the hand and isn't too bulky. The 42 hour reserve on the watch is good enough to last two days. The only complaint about Hamilton watches is the leather band isn't long enough. |
