PEC PADs are extremely strong, lint-free and so soft and pure it is almost impossible to scratch an emulsion with them. PEC PADs are so soft they can be safely used to clean all types of sensitive surfaces: scanners, CD's, mirrors, lenses, telescopes etc. PEC PADs are available in two convenient sizes. The 4 x 4 inch (10 cm.sq.) wipes are perfect for cleaning 35mm and other small areas; the 9 x 9 inch (25 cm.sq.) wipes are best suited for larger film or print formats, murals, scanners etc.

I used them to clean archived 35mm kodachrome slides. The pads allowed even application of the cleaning solution. The pads also removed the solution with out leaving any streaks or lint. Overall, the product performs as expected. The only thing is that the package is a bit difficult to open without exposing all the pads. To my knowledge, no paper or cloth is absolutely lint free so if you, like another reviewer, go looking for fibers with a jeweler's loupe you'll probably find some. Fortunately, if they are so small they can only be seen under significant magnification, they will cause you no image degradation.I do encourage users to keep the opened packages in a clean, dust-free environment such as a small plastic food container. If dust settles on the pads it can be transferred to the lens. In fact, it is quite easy to pick up some grit from any number of sources, including the glass surface, itself, and then abrade the lens inadvertently. In other words, " ultra soft and lint-free" refers to the virgin pads and should not lead one to a false sense of security. My only other objection is the obscenely high price.
