If you're having the same dilemma, think of large as "normal" size. I am a female with "normal" size ears and these fit perfectly. They where easy to replace, and seem to fit the unit well. I have smaller ears, and tend to get ear pain with larger in ear items like headphones or ear plugs. These are just to small. I don't feel like I get a good seal on my ear canal, and I am constantly shifting the position of my head for optimal sound. I am sure that I will be purchasing the large to replace the small.
