The assembly was easy but the upright post did not line up perfectly when screwed in. Not a big deal and no one will notice except the person that puts it together. It is rated for 60watt max bulb. The bulb sits on top of the shade bracket. (some lamps have the shade on top of the bulb. This might prevent you from using a larger CFL bulb which would probably stick out from the top of the shade. Both shades had brown trim so they look nice together. They are maybe a little taller than a cereal box but not by much. It's fits in rather nicely. It is well constructed but the lamp shade is a little basic. I asked if I could order another shade in black and they did not respond. So I have 2 lamps sitting on my daughters dresser...one black trimmed shade and one brown trimmed shade...not too attractive!!!!! |
