Product Description
This battery-powered train set sends Thomas around a double-loop track with the push of a button. The 28-piece set includes Thomas, a china-clay car, yellow caboose, arched stone bridge, stone tunnel, Sir Topham Hatt, stop and railway signs, three assorted trees, signal, action-switch track, single curved switch track, and 15 assorted track pieces. Thomas requires one AA battery, not included. All track is compatible with Brio wooden rail systems.

My daughter really enjoys watching Thomas go. The only problem is that Thomas falls off the track too much when trying to go around the curves and where there is a break in the tracks (such as a switch track). My husband and I believe this is due to the fact that the wheels have rubber on them. It probably was not neccessary to put rubber on all of the wheels, especially the front ones. In looking at the Brio battery operated set, the engine only has rubber on the middle wheels - this is probably a better system. Also, Battery operated Thomas is higher than all of the other trains and cars, so the magnets don't hook on as well as they would with the regular engines. He loved it immediately and was easily able to manipulate the train. However, we also found that it would run off the track at the same point every time!! It is too difficult for a 3 year old. Everytime my son attempts to put the trains back on the track the tracks start falling apart. The trains fall off all of the time. Don't waste your money your child will only end up frustrated. |
