5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use - gets the job done!, June 17, 2009
This is one thing that actually does what it says... it's so much better than any Swiffer product. I use it dry to 'dust' the foors, or I fill a spray bottle with cleaning solution, and spray the floor and then 'mop' with this, and just throw the head in the washer - so simple!!!! Doesn't leave dust balls all over.... even picks up small amounts of sand off the hard floors!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, much better than Swiffer and reusable!, November 7, 2009
This review is from: 3M Scotch-Brite M-005 Microfiber Hardwood Floor Mop (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have hardwood floors and this makes cleaning a breeze! Make sure you have at least TWO refills. Rather than sweeping (does anyone really sweep anymore?) and getting dust/fur all over the place, I use the mop dry first. Then I remove the dry refille/head, put on a clean refill, spray the floor with a mix of Murphy's Oil Soap and water as I go with the mop. You can wash both of the refills and you're ready for next time! I don't like Swiffer because I feel like it's wasteful and filling up the landfills, but also this mop glides a lot better, too! When I did use a Swiffer, it would annoy me because it kept getting "stuck" and flipping over due to the friction of the refill on the moist floor surface. The refills/heads for this mop glide easily and don't get stuck like that, so it's much less frustrating!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Mop Ever!, May 12, 2010
This review is from: 3M Scotch-Brite M-005 Microfiber Hardwood Floor Mop (Tools & Home Improvement)
My review is not so much for the mop, which does what it's supposed to do, but for the pads themselves. It's the pads that make such a difference. I've tried other brands of microfiber mop pads, and I usually have a big problem with their not gliding easily or not getting rid of the stains or spots on my floors.

There's a slight nubbiness or texture to these microfiber mop pads that makes mopping a breeze and helps keep the floors much cleaner than with the smoother-type pads, while still being totally soft enough for any hard floor surface.

I just spray the mop pad with filtered water. I don't use any cleaner at all. I wash them in warm water and tumble dry them on low -- no bleach, no fabric softener, no dryer sheets. I always wash microfiber cloths and pads in a separate load because the lint from other items can clog up the microfiber in the same way that any fabric softener can.

I purchased my two mops and subsequent pads at Target, but my local... Read more
